S.T.R.A.Y. C.A.T.

This acronym stands for the
Subconscious Transference of Recollections, Anxieties, and Tearnings to Consciously Accessible Thought

This is the most persistent problem the CRVer faces: an impression which comes up from the "signal line" and triggers some recollection, anxiety or yearning (memoy, fear, or desire). The impression which reaches the cosncious mind becomes indistinguishable from a true psychic perception. Therefrore, you cannot know during a session whether a STRAY CAT is either right or wrong. It is based on something the subconscious mind perceives at the site, so it could be correct. The important thing to remember is that the fact that an impression is a STRAY CAT does not mean it is either right or wrong. It only means that it has personal baggage attached to it. Therefore, it is best to "set aside" this type of impression and try to get back to viewing things about the target, itself.

The terms "STRAY CAT" and "AOL" are generally used interchangeably, but in fact, there is a difference. A STRAY CAT happens at the subconscious level, and is fully developed by the time it comes to the viewer's conscious mind. An AOL is caused by conscious-mind analysis of the incoming perception. It happens in the conscious mind. Rigorous training can greatly reduce the occurrence of AOLs, because you gain control over your analytic, conscous thinking. There is no way we have learned so far to reduce the occurrence of STRAY Cats. The only thing you can do is learn to recognize them so they can be "set aside".
